Food for Thought Dinner
with World Education

September 17, 2007

La Morra Restaurant
Brookline, MA

SEPTEMBER Event's Featured Organization:
WORLD EDUCATION

Did you know that two-thirds of the world's uneducated children are girls, and two-thirds of the world's illiterate adults are women? Worldwide, women perform two-thirds of all labor and produce more than half of the world's food, yet women only own about one percent of the world's assets, and represent 70% of those living in absolute poverty.

Using education as a primary strategy, World Education unleashes the potential of girls and women to learn, lead and act on their vision for change for themselves and their communities. Working in 26 countries throughout Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the United States, World Education collaborates with local partners to provide opportunities for empowerment through education.

As children return to school here in Boston, please join us on Monday, September 17 to learn more about World Education's groundbreaking programs. We look forward to a unique evening as we explore the work of this wonderful organization, and the lives of the women and children it has touched.
